Hosta 'Proud Sentry' is a unique introduction from Minnesota hosta breeder, Don Dean, that forms a nice upright fountain-shaped clump with red stems. The long pointed green leaves are edged in yellow, which changes to creamy white as the season progresses. Hosta 'Proud Sentry' was created by a cross of a Hosta 'Swoosh' seedling x H. 'Crested Surf' x H. 'Venetian Blue'. The 2'+ wide clumps are topped in midsummer with 30" tall spikes of light lavender flowers.
