This great selection was a naturally occurring hybrid of our native H. annuus x H. decapetalus that occurred in a garden in England circa 1938. So, why has it taken so long for this great plant to make it back to it's homeland? Immigration rules, a lack of cheap tickets, an underappreciation of our native plants...hmmm? This 5-6' clumper is topped with 3" bright yellow sunflowers...a great floral show. Because of its long floral stems and long flowering time (August to October), H. 'Capenoch Star' is often used in the cut flower industry. Try several in your border, so you'll have plenty for arrangements.
