Gloriosa superba 'Greenii' is a lovely clonal selection of the widespread (India to Africa) native superb gloriosa lily, that flowers for us all summer. Despite the lily name, Gloriosa superba isn't related to true lilies, and in fact, is first cousin to colchicums. The five yellow petals appear like helicopter blades, holding the anthers and stigma below. We've found Gloriosa superba 'Greenii' very easy to grow, but slightly moist, well-drained loamy soils have worked best for us.
