(aka: Gloriosa plantii, Gloriosa superba 'Plantii') Gloriosa simplex is a special selection of the African native gloriosa lily. The 8' tall, twining deciduous vine is covered from mid-spring through summer with 3" flowers consisting of six white ruffled petals, each highlighted by a dramatic dark pink central stripe that envelops the entire petal toward the outer tip. The white color ages to cream, further enhancing the show. Like their cousins, colchicums (fall crocus), gloriosas contain the chemical colchicine, so please, no snacking on your plants.
