Fargesia denudata is one of the little-known bamboo species that has done exceptionally well in our heat-tolerant bamboo trials. This clumping species which hails from 6,000'-10,000' in the northern Sichuan and southern Gansu provinces of China has made an 8' tall clump of strongly arching canes in 5 years. Although Fargesia denudata is deer-resistant, it is a favorite edible species for giant pandas, so if you live in a jungle-like neighborhood, we recommend our proprietary panda-proof fence for the bargain price of $2,200 per linear foot.
