Farfugium 'Basho Ogi' is a little-known Japanese selection of Farfugium japonicum var. luchuense. The 8" tall x 2' wide clumps are composed of odd-shaped 4" long x 5" wide leaves, nicely speckled yellow. Starting for us in mid-October, the clumps are topped with 2' tall branched scapes of yellow aster-like flowers. Moist, rich soils produce the best plants.
