This small iris relative is similar to Ennealophus euryandrus and shares the same habitat in the Northern Argentine provinces of Jujuy and Salta. The 10" tall clumps are composed of narrow miniature iris-like leaves, and topped for several months during the summer with small mauvy-lavender flowers composed of three falls surrounding a small purple cup. These have proven remarkably easy to grow and reliably winter-hardy in our climate. Full to partially sunny, well drained soils seem to be the trick.
