Echinodorus 'Tropica Marble Queen' is a beautifully variegated form of our native (Missouri south to Florida) wetland perennial, developed at the Oriental Aquarium in Singapore, where it occurred as a seedling between two forms of Echinodorus cordifolius ('Ovalis' and 'Gelb'). Echinodorus 'Tropica Marble Queen' grows as a bog marginal, as a true aquatic, or submerged in an aquarium. The 18" tall x 3' wide plant includes long arching spikes of white flowers, which root down in moist soils. The 2" wide x 5" long leaves are much smaller than the typical species.
