Another of those alien carnivorous plants that were brought here by extraterrestrials is most certainly Drosera spathulata...actually it grows wild in the lowlands of Honshu and Shikoku, Japan. The foliage resembles a group of tiny brown soup spoons, each covered in tiny bright red hairs. The tight clumps which can reach 6" across are topped in May-August with stalks of tiny pink flowers. Drosera require moist garden soil in an area where pitcher plants grow well, or they fare very well as container plants where they attract more than their share of attention.
