    Cyrtomium x faltideum is a little-known hybrid of two evergreen holly ferns, the glossy-leafed Cyrtonium falcatum and large-pinnae Cyrtomium caryotideum. In the world of plant breeding, ferns have been among the most overlooked, which could have something to do with them not producing flowers. Cyrtomium x faltideum forms an 20" tall x 3' wide clump of bold-textured, glossy green fronds with pinnae that are much larger than in Cyrtomium falcatum. In in trials, it proven much more winter hardy than both parents. We are very pleased to make this rare hybrid more widely available.
