(syn: Hesperoxiphion peruvianum) We are pleased to introduce another of the wonderful group of iris relatives that have performed amazingly well in our temperate climate. C. peruviana forms delightful pleated leaves, topped in very late summer through fall with flat triangular bright yellow-orange flowers. Cypella peruviana is very similar to C. herbertii except for the much larger flowers that are usually held solitary on the stalk. For the fall garden, this is a wonderful surprise as much of the garden begins to go to sleep at this time.
