Cryptomeria japonica 'Tsukumo' is a very dwarf Japanese conifer selection shared by our friend, plantsman Ozzie Johnson, who obtained it in 2004 from world famous Japanese plantsman Mikinori Ogisu. It's so new that it's not even listed by the recently published, extensive RHS Encyclopedia of Conifers. Cryptomeria japonica 'Tsukumo' makes a very small, upright mound to 22" tall x 16" wide in 10 years...very limited quantities available. Tsukumo means 9-10-9 in Japanese, but according to plantsman Barry Yinger, is occasionally used with plants to mean "cloud".
