This unusual Angolan species is considered by many to be the most beautiful of the crinum species. Thanks to sharing neighbors, this very fertile species has become quite widespread in Southern Florida. In midsummer, the 30" tall stalks top the flat rosettes of wide glossy green foliage, opening into the most exquisite white flowers with a bright red stripe down the middle of each petal. This is truly one of the most stunning flowers that you can possibly grow. To ensure hardiness further north, plant the bulbs at least 1' deep in a well-drained, protected site and mulch well.
