We first encountered this wonderful plant in 2002 at 8,000' elevation in Northern Argentina. I will admit to being quite enamored of the idea of a perennial cosmos and was very excited when this Dutch selection became available. C. peucedanifolius has survived well for us although, I suspect, it would prefer a cooler summer. It also may be much more cold hardy than our limited experience indicates. In early spring, the 18" wide clumps of cutleaf foliage are topped with large 3" bright pink flowers on 15" tall stalks. I expect this would be superb on the US West Coast.
