Cordylines have been a great surprise to those who enjoy growing hardy tropicals. Although they never reach the size attainable in frost-free climates, cordylines have proven to be quite reliable from the warmer parts of Zone 8 south (warmer Zone 7 with protection). C. 'Red Sensation' is a dramatic purple-red form that shows off best in bright sun. The narrow, 1/2" x 18" long, red leaves radiate around the dracaena-like stalks...fabulous as a specimen plant in the garden or in a color bowl.
