This fascinating selection of bamboo fern was shared by Judith Jones, who got the plant from former California fern collector, Gordon Becker. For us, Coniogramme japonica 'Variegata' has made a tremendous 3-4' wide patch in the garden where it spreads by short rhizomes. Emerging from the rhizomes are 3.5' tall, upright, glossy-green, deciduous leaves, each composed of large pinnae and decorated with small "variegated" bands. We truly love Coniogramme japonica 'Variegata' and are glad to finally have enough to share.
