    This selection of Cheilanthes lanosa is grown from spores from a specimen that we discovered in 1999, growing in Montgomery County, NC, at the edge of the Uwharrie Mountains. We found a huge patch of C. lanosa that had much narrower and darker green fronds, and was growing much tighter in habit than the other forms that we had tried. This has been a splendid specimen in our rock garden...very drought tolerant once established.
