    Cheilanthes eatonii is one of our amazing North American native sun ferns. With a range from Virginia to Arizona, Eaton's Lip Fern is most happy growing on dry calcareous rock outcrops and crevices. The deer-resistant Cheilanthes eatonii is not for beginners, and it will not thrive in "typical" garden conditions, preferring a well-drained, part sun rock garden. While Cheilanthes eatonii will need water during establishment, it is very drought tolerant once established, especially when planted near a rock to shade its roots.
