    Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Nana Lutea' is one of our favorite conifers. This overlooked upright specimen is informally conical with semi-pendulous branches and foliage that changes from blue to grey to gold...like a gold thread cypress on Prozac. Every now and then it does a Dr. Jekyll thing, and sends out a branch or two of gold thread cypress...definitely schizoid! Our 30 year old plant is 25' tall x 18' wide.
