Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Nana' was introduced from Germany in 1891 and is still a favorite for a nice, compact mound. The congested dark green fan-like foliage makes a nice 20" tall x 40" wide mound in 10 years. The underside of the foliage is a particularly nice glaucous white. This is a perfect selection for the medium-sized rock garden.
