We are pleased to offer one of the most special plants we grow...a selection of the Raulston allspice. The late JC Raulston had the idea of crossing the Asian Calycanthus sinensis with the native Calycanthus floridus. The result was an amazing plant whose fast-growing, 8' tall branches are covered with large, glossy, green leaves as well as hundreds of 2", liver-red flowers from mid-April to May. Unlike some sweet Betsy plants, the hybrid did not retain the floral fragrance. Regardless, this is simply a stunning garden plant that we would not be without.
