    (AKA Boehmeria nivea, biloba)Unusual clumping perennial to 3' wide, with heavily corrugated green leaves, with the texture of thick sandpaper. The leaves split at the end into two lobes (hence the name biloba). Ramie has unusual tan spikes 4' long in the leaf axils in late summer...a great textural contrast!
