Boehmeria nivea 'Glow Light'

We picked this gem up from plantsman Barry Yinger, sans name, before he closed Asiatica Nursery, and are glad to now be able to share it. Boehmeria 'Glow Light' eventually makes a 3' tall x 6' wide (we're guessing on the mature size) deciduous perennial clump of fleshy upright stalks, each clothed in fuzzy golden leaves. For us, Boehmeria 'Glow Light' has thrived in half-day sun as well as light shade. The fuzzy, tan, pipe-cleaner-like flowers that adorn the upper half of the plant in summer are...well, unusual. If you have a part of the garden that needs the golden fuzzies, then the bright yellow foliage of Boehmeria 'Glow Light' may be for you.
