    This 1970's Nick Nickou hybrid that has just reached the trade, is a cross between A. filix-femina x A. niponicum 'Pictum'. A. 'Branford Rambler' makes a stoloniferous, deer-resistant clump to 2' wide in 5 years. The 18" tall fronds of mahogany tinged green compose the clump. If you need to fill a large woodland area with a splendid fern, Athyrium 'Branford Rambler' is for you.
