We are thrilled to offer our evergreen native, A. virginicum (West Virginia through South Carolina). The 2" wide, rounded, dark green leaves are highlighted by a dramatic pattern of silver veining. In appearance, A. virginicum resembles A. minor and A. shuttleworthii var. shuttleworthii except for the size of the flowers which are much smaller than the other two. In the wild, this species inhabits wooded slopes as well as boggy sites. This clump-forming ginger is quite easy to grow in areas with acid soils and will make a delightful addition to the woodland garden. These plants are all identical since they were vegetatively propagated from one clone.
