If there has ever been a "fuzzy wuzzy" in the plant world, this is it! This charming deciduous species from China has got more hair on it's chest than my neighbor Eddie. Heck, its got hair all over the place...leaves, stem, flowers, etc...actually I haven't closely examined the etc. This particular form has heart-shaped green leaves that are highlighted by a huge central patch of silver...superb! Spreading from a slow moving rhizome, A. pulchellum makes a nice woodland groundcover, adorned in late spring with small strange peachy colored flowers with reflexed petals (sort of like slicked-back hair).
