This has long been one of my favorites of the Chinese gingers since I saw a specimen at the US National Arboretum in 1994. We are excited to be able to make A. delavayi available to American gardeners. The giant, glossy, evergreen leaves can reach 8-10" long. In addition to making a splendid clump in the woodland garden, the slowly stoloniferous clumps are adorned in early spring with the largest flowers in the genus Asarum (up to 4" across)... did I mention that they are yellow and purple speckled on the inside...truly a sight for sore gardeners!
