This selection of our native A. arifolium was originally received in 1994 from Beaver Creek Nursery in TN, and then selected by Jean Frett at the famed Mt. Cuba Center. Instead of clumping like the typical A. arifolium, this selection spreads by runners, making a thick groundcover...to 18" wide in 5 years. The green arrow-shaped leaves are adorned with nice silver blotching on the upper surface and are incredibly fragrant (anise-scent) when crushed. In spring, the unique flowers hide just below the foliage...take a peek. A. 'Beaver Creek' is a great woodland groundcover to grow with naturalized bulbs and other choice woodlanders.
