Arisaema serratum is a widespread and easy-to-grow species from China, Japan, and Korea. The 24-30" tall stems (often tinted purple) are adorned with two leaves, each with 7-17 leaflets. In mid- to late April, the stalks are topped with an attractive pitcher...often purple in color. This is a very easy-to-grow species that offsets slowly. Well-drained soils are important for long term viability. Thanks to "The Genus Arisaema" author, Guy Gusman, for sharing these seed (GG96228) from a population on Japan's Mt. Fuji.
