This amazing cobra lily is truly one of the most grotesque members of the genus... sure to get the garden club tour folks talking. In mid spring, the giant three lobed leaf emerges atop a 2' tall rubbery spined stalk. Emerging along side the stem holding the leaf is a more bizarre flower that opens atop a 8" stalk. Each giant purple, white, and green striped hooded flower is home to a bizarre thick shiny green tongue that sticks out of the hood...waiting like a snake to attack unsuspecting passerbys...WAY COOL!
