The seeds for this form of A. consanguineum came from 9000' elevation at Tae Gie Shan in the province of Yunnan, China. These were collected from a plant growing in a very moist area below the dirt road on which we traveled. In early summer, the stalks rise and eventually grow to 30". As they reach their maximum height, the leaf opens like a 12 leaved umbrella. Alongside the leaf is the opening, flower-like, giant pitcher with an arching hood that ends in a long narrow thread... quite dramatic. The width of the leaves and the color of the flower will vary with each seedling.
