This hard-to-find species comes from the high mountains of Southern India...near Kerala where it can be found at over 6000'. The leaf stalk of this small-growing species and accompanying 5-9 leaflet leaf only reaches 1' tall. A. barnesii flowers in late May (NC) with an attractive green and white striped spathe, holding a small alien-antennae-like spadix.
