Aralia racemosa is a spectacular North American perennial, native to mountain woodlands from Canada south to Georgia. In form, it resemblesa giant aruncus on steroids. The giant pinnate foliage clothes the upright 4' stalks which terminate in midsummer with giant panicles of white flowers. As the flowers fade, they are replaced by hundreds of tiny purple berries. Aralia racemosa prefers an average to slightly moist site.
