We think this selection of the Southeast native (from NC to Florida) is going to become the newest and hottest grass for the perennial world. Selected by Woodlanders' Bob McCartney near Valdosta, Georgia, this sturdy, chalky-blue foliaged andropogon reaches an amazing 4' by fall, when it is topped with narrow bushy plumes. In cool weather, the foliage takes on a burgundy hue over the blue... WOW! Although native to low moist areas, it is incredibly adaptable to typical garden conditions.
