This giant Indonesian species, closely related to A. gigas, is composed of a single green leaf atop a 10-12' tall, beautifully speckled petiole of brown, green, and white. The 5' tall inflorescence, composed of a purple spathe and giant white spadix, sits atop a 6-8' tall spike...quite the Kodak moment. A. decus-silvae is one of the most stunning, but also one of the more difficult species to grow. It must be kept potted and slightly dry while dormant...for advanced gardeners only.
