A member of the family Pteridaceae, Bommeria is native to the Americas with Bommeria hispida the only member found north of Mexico. This creeping fern grows well in sun and is surprising drought-tolerant...two attributes seldom ascribed to ferns.
Bommeria is named for Belgian botanist Jean-Edouard Bommer (1829-1895).
