Salvia 'Jean's Jewel' is a Salvia guaranitica hybrid from California's Cabrilla College that's thrived for us since 2016. The 5' tall stalks are clothed with wonderfully pungent foliage, and topped, starting for us in mid-June with 11" spikes of byzantine violet flowers that continue for months. Unlike Salvia guaranitica, which spreads too vigorously for most gardens, Salvia 'Jean's Jewel' has a much more refined, 3' wide growth habit.
