Punica granatum 'Russian Giant' is not only one of the most winter hardy selections in the genus, but it also has some of the largest, most edible fruits. The 12' tall x 12' wide specimen is clothed with narrow green, deciduous foliage, and further adorned with masses of bright orange flowers, starting for us in mid-May, and continuing for months. The flowers are followed with masses of edible fruit that last into early fall. A full sun site produces the most fruit, and average to dry soils are fine.
