    This beautiful conifer reaches heights of 100' in the wild, but don't fret about that size in your lifetime. This native to mountainous forests of South Africa's Natal region is also where so many great perennials come from. Just like the perennials, Podocarpus henkelii has been much hardier that expert books indicate (no damage at 8 degrees F). The soft, dark green evergreen needles are narrower than the more common P. macrophyllus, but the upright form seems similar. This is a rare opportunity for the serious conifer collector...very easy in cultivation.
