Orostachys fimbriata

(syn: Sedum limuloides) Orostachys fimbriata is certainly one of the most unique members of the dunce caps, looking amazingly like a punk-spiked hairdo with far too much dusty brown hair color. The soft, fleshy rosettes offset slowly making an eye-catching small clump for the rock garden. In September, the rosettes appear to be erupting like a miniature volcano. The top of the "volcano cone" is actually a flower spike that is adorned with small white star-shaped flowers. Good drainage is important for long-term success.
