(aka: Parodia mammulosa) Notocactus floricomus has been an outstanding performing barrel cactus in our trials here in the humid, rainy, southeastern US. This native of Uruguay and adjacent Southern Argentina and Brazil, forms a 8" wide, solitary, well-armed green barrel, topped, starting for us in mid-May with clusters of bright yellow flowers. Good drainage and plenty of sun and air are the keys to success.
