Nolina microcarpa is one of the larger, clumping bear grass species with amazing hardiness...we saw it thriving at the mile-high Denver Botanic Gardens. The long, narrow, evergreen, grass-like leaves of Nolina microcarpa reach nearly 36" on this stately 6' wide specimen from the Southwest US. The flower stalks emerge from the center of the clump to 5' in height and are covered with tiny white flowers in spring... really neat!
