This dazzling little amaryllid from South Africa has proven to be the hardiest of the genus...quite hardy here in Zone 7. We obtained our original plants from plantsman Doug Ruhren, formerly of Montrose Gardens. The narrow, onion-like foliage makes a tight clump, topped from early October through November with 1' tall stems that end with delicate rosy-pink flowers resembling dwarf surprise lilies (lycoris). This amazingly durable and easy-to-grow bulb is the star of the fall garden!
