Totally bizarre! This is about the best description that we can manage for this strange import from Mars (we assume). This bog dweller from the Southeast US has proven not only extremely easy to grow, but a great attention getter in the garden. The clump of fleshy grass-like basal foliage is topped all summer with 10" naked flower spikes, each ending in a white mushroom-like button...like granny used to stick through her hats. Our clone is propagated from a division from a roadside population in Brunswick County, NC.
