This small iris relative is from the Northern Argentine provinces of Jujuy and Salta. The 10" tall clumps are composed of narrow miniature iris-like leaves, and topped for several months during the summer with small mauvy-lavender flowers composed of three falls surrounding a small purple cup. These have proven remarkably easy to grow and reliably winter-hardy in our climate. Full to partially sunny, well drained soils seem to be the trick.
