We are pleased to offer this WeDu selection of the little-known clumping version of A. shuttleworthii. This native ginger is found in very moist to boggy acidic sites from Virginia down through Alabama. The glossy, dark evergreen foliage is highlighted by a particularly wide silver vein patterning in this selection. To make a groundcover or use as a border, I would recommend a 1' spacing. In late spring, the large, dark purple, rounded barrel-shaped flowers are borne in profusion just beneath the leaves...take a peek! Each plant has identical patterning, thanks to the miracle of tissue culture propagation.
