This vigorous selection of the Southeast US native A. shuttleworthii was made by asarum guru Barry Yinger along the Cahaba River in Alabama. A. 'Cahaba River' boasts dark green leaves highlighted with a nice silver pattern. In late spring, the clumps are adorned with large thumb-sized flared dark purple flowers, hidden just below the foliage.
