Alocasia 'Crinkles' is the arthritic form of the easy-to-grow Alocasia cucullata. Now, you're probably thinking this doesn't sound too beautiful and you'd probably be correct, but as we all know, beauty is in the eye of the plant holder. This 2' tall dwarf is composed of glossy, green, upright-held leaves that indeed look as though they have been sprayed with weed killer which caused the leaves to become thoroughly contorted. I think it has a cute, homely quality to it...certainly a conversation piece...many people asked what we sprayed it with. Think, Charlie Brown's Christmas aroid, and you'll just have to adopt one.
