Rhodanthemum atlanticum is a little-known rock garden perennial, endemic to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco at 7,500-13,000' elevation, where it's found in small soil-filled pockets on rocky slopes. Moroccan daisy would be better known by gardeners if it hadn't been banished from the genus chrysanthemum for its unique sexual exploits. Despite its reputation as a Zone 9 plant, rhodanthemum has thrived for us since 2013, growing in our dry, sunny rock garden.
