Woodwardia orientalis 'Crispa' is one of the most special and rare ferns in our collection, originally shared by plantsman Barry Yinger. The 3' long, arching evergreen fronds form a crested petticoat at the end of each pinna. Woodwardia orientalis 'Crispa' isn't a fast growing fern, but when a clump finally matures, the resulting 3' tall x 3' wide specimen is truly amazing. When mature, Woodwardia orientalis 'Crispa' also produces small plantlets along the leaf edges. We were very pleased to find that this is more winter hardy than our other non-crested forms of Woodwardia orientalis. These are available in very limited quantity.
